Join us for a Spooky Edition of our Salsa-ASL dance lesson and dance social. Costumes welcome!
-Are you a dancer who has always wanted to learn American Sign Language (ASL)?
-Are you Deaf or DeafBlind and always wanted to learn Salsa?
-Are you hearing and have always wanted to learn ASL, Salsa or Both?
-Are you a dance teacher who has always wanted to learn how to teach the Deaf/DeafBlind community dancing?
When: October 26, 2019
1:00 PM – 1:45 PM Basic ASL Lesson for Socializing
1:45: PM – 2:30 PM Beginner’s Salsa Lesson (to be taught in ASL)
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM Social Dancing (with DJ Francois)
Where: Muevelo Dance Studio; 525 Main Street, Malden, MA 02148 (a short walk from the Malden Center station on the Orange Line)
The ASL portion will teach fingerspelling and basic social phrases in American Sign Language.
The Salsa portion will teach basic Salsa moves. The lesson will be taught in ASL and spoken English. Dancers will have an opportunity to practice both their dance moves and ASL skills.
This is a salsa lesson you will never forget!
