Bringing Communities Together with Inclusive Dance
Silent Rhythms was founded with the mission to use inclusive arts and dance as a way to bring communities together – Deaf and hearing, people with and without disabilities – to educate, raise awareness, promote inclusion, and inspire creativity to marginalized communities.

What We Do to Make a Difference
Social Change
Create a world where everyone is equal.
Teach
Adaptive dance classes and fitness opportunities for people of all abilities.
Training
Guide dance teachers and volunteers to adapt inclusive teaching methods for dancers with disabilities.
Consult
Collaborate with local arts institutions to design inclusive and accessible events and communications.
Our Focus
Underrepresented populations within the disability community.
Our Programs
Salsa for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
This project began during the Covid-19 pandemic, when dance classes were moved online. We reached out to local dance teachers across various genres, and provided guidance on how to teach an accessible dance class online.
DeafBlind Salsa Classes
This salsa dance class is tailored to serve members of the DeafBlind community and is taught using various communication methods such as American Sign Language, tactile American Sign Language, pro-tactile, and audio-descriptive instructions.
ASL and Salsa Workshops
A salsa class that aims to bring members of the Deaf and Hearing communities together! First, participants receive a lesson in foundational American Sign Language (ASL), followed by a basic salsa lesson. Students get to practice both their new ASL and dance skills simultaneously. For all levels, ages, and abilities.
The Dance Project
A dance class for people of all levels which is taught in American Sign Language.
Salsa in the Park
An annual community event hosted every summer by MetaMovements Dance, in which Silent Rhythms teaches salsa lessons in American Sign Language.
Inclusion in the Arts
We work with various museums, dance companies, studios, and theaters to support access and inclusion in the arts for people with disabilities.
